| Think poetry is boring or hard to understand? Well think again. Mrs. Harwood¦s English 9A course, (Exploring Poetry: A Journey of the Senses÷ will awaken you to the vibrant world of poetry. In this six-week course, students will be introduced to a wide range of poems, from the formal structure of haiku and villanelle to the performance art of spoken word poetry and lyric poetry. Students will write reflectively about the poems they read as well as critically using their understanding of poetic device and craft. Finally students will have the chance to write in a variety of poetic formats. The culminating project in the course is an Online Poetry Portfolio which highlights the various types of writing produced throughout the course. | ||||
