Course Purpose |

| Engages in the study of contemporary poetry. Students will be introduced to a wide range of poems, from the formal structure of haiku and triptych to the performance art of spoken word and lyric poetry. Students will write reflectively about the poems they read and use their understanding of poetic devices and craft to write their own poems in each of the forms presented. The culminating project in the course is an Online Poetry Portfolio highlighting the various poems written throughout the course. | ||||
