Course Purpose

    Introduces the history of photography from the earliest daguerreotype to modern SLR and smartphone cameras. Examines the role of shutter speed, aperature, and ISO to balance image lighting. Presents composition techniques such as the rule of thirds, perspective, focus, and the golden ratio. Compares photographic genres such as macro and micro, still life, scenic action, and portrait photography. Encourages creativity through through frequent and active photo composition.
